NYATOH
NYATOH. The Standard Malaysian Name for the light and reddish timber of the family Sapotaceae. Vernacular names applied include NYATOH (Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak) with various epithets and also bengku (Peninsular Malaysia).
NYATOH is a very popular timber for furniture, solid door and lorry body. It is suitable for high class decorative works and interior finishing such as panelling. Other application include flooring, landing, decking, stepboard, staircase (angle block, rough bracket, baluster, balustrade, carriage, handrail, riser, stringer, tread, bullnose, round end and winder), columns (light duty), plywood, beams, rafters, joists (light duty), door and window frames and sills (internal use only) and lorry bodies (planking).
NYATOH usually apply on indoor application, and subject to termite attacks as well as susceptible to fungal attacks. Therefore kiln dried process is required. Our kiln dried temperature can goes up to 80 degree celcius, all eggs and bugs are killed. We can supply kiln dried NYATOH below 12MC (Moisture contents).
